Tiny Star Jar · Last updated 24 October 2026
Tiny Star Jar is a family habit and reward app. In its current version, the app keeps the information you enter on your device. It does not require an account or send your family’s app data to a Tiny Star Jar server.
Information the app stores
The app saves the routines and rewards you create, star balances and allocations, task completion status, redeemed reward history, and app preferences. This information is stored locally in the app on your iPhone or iPad.
Photos and camera
If you choose a photo or take a picture for a reward, Tiny Star Jar stores that image with the reward on your device. The app does not upload reward photos to us. You can remove a reward photo while editing that reward. You can also decline camera access and use an emoji instead.
Motion and the hourglass
When the relevant animation is active, the app reads device motion locally to move stars in the jar or, when you unlock motion, to animate the hourglass. Motion readings are used for the visual interaction and are not transmitted to us.
Timer notifications
If you allow notifications, iOS schedules a local notification for the end of a timer. Tiny Star Jar does not use a push-notification server. You can change notification permission at any time in your device’s Settings.
Sharing, advertising and analytics
The current version does not include app accounts, cloud sync, advertising, or an analytics service. We do not receive or sell the app data described above. Apple’s operating system may process information as part of device features you choose to use, such as photo selection, camera access, notifications or device backups; those services are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy information.
Children and family use
Tiny Star Jar is designed for families to use together. The app does not ask children to provide names, contact details or create an online profile. A parent or guardian should set up tasks and rewards, supervise use, and avoid adding sensitive personal details or private images to reward titles, descriptions or photos.
Keeping and deleting information
Your app data remains on the device until you remove it in the app or remove the app from your device. Because the developer does not receive a copy, we cannot restore locally stored data if it is lost. If you use Apple device backup, app data may be included according to your backup settings.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated before or when those changes take effect. The “Last updated” date above indicates the latest revision.
